Vernal Pool Salamander Eggs Monday, April 26, 2004 Gordon Moore of the Maine Forest Service displays salamander eggs located in a vernal pool. These seasonal pools, vital breeding habitat to several species, were the topic of an April 24 workshop hosted by Piscataquis County Soil & Water Conservation District. Richard Johnson, Scott Nelson, Bill Mahen and Fred Herrick take a close look at the eggs. Duane LaCasce and Iris Snowfire also attended the workshop.
