| Green Thumb Society's 2005 Town Report Overview |
|
The Green Thumb Society was formed in April 2004. Our vision is to help maintain the Town of Dexter's flower boxes and gardens in addition to creating new ones, while saving local tax dollars and create a sense of pride of our community.
Deb Burdin of B'Warts Nursery, Fred Sherburne of Almost Compost & Sherburne Farms joined Judy Wilbur Craig in the beginning stages to develop the group and Ivy & Mike Brooks generously allowed the Green Thumbs to meet at the Brewster Inn.
Members elected:
Generous donations have been made by B'Warts Nursery, Almost Compost & Sherburne Farms, Brewster Inn, Judy Craig Consulting (website at www.GreenThumbSociety.com) and many individuals who put in many, many hours of volunteer work planting, weeding, watering, donating their own plants and money donations for the Memorial Fund and Hunger Gardens. If you are a senior citizen or a teen OR anywhere in between, and you would like to get involved, please Judy at 924-3067. Email judy@DexterMaine.com for more information. Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of the month, 7pm at the Brewster Inn on Zions Hill in Dexter. |
