Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center Training Program
The Facility: Our facility is located on 185 Harlow Street, Suite 8, downtown Bangor, Maine. The room has been inspected by the Department of Maine Education, Department of Health, and The Bangor Fire Department and is approved for up to 10 students.

The classroom is approximately 500 square feet of open space with a massage table, massage chairs, chairs, sink, hydrocollator, chalkboard, wall charts, Manikin, body cushion, lending library of books and video/ audio tapes, and TV/VCR.

* 500 hr. In- Class Weekend Intensive Education All hours are in- class at the Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center (TBLC). Our intention is to create an affordable avenue of study and licensure qualification through small hands-on classes and clinical experience. Classes are small with a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 10.

Our goal is to provide massage training program that allows you the flexibility to continue with your job, care-giving, etc. Upon graduation, students have a solid foundation and tools to develop a successful massage and bodywork practice.

Classes usually offered through 2 monthly weekend intensives.
(15 month program; Diploma through TBLC)

* Create a Portfolio to Review for The National Certification Board In Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCTMB) or the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards ( MBLEx).
*Use your previous bodywork training (P.T., O.T., M.D., R.N., Athletic trainor, etc.) to help achieve your Maine license. Students must take 200 hrs. (or more) at the Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center to help meet their Maine educational license requirements.

Classes usually offered through 1 monthly weekend intensive. (10-12 month program; NCTMB or MBLEx Boards Testing process required for Maine licensure )

*TBLC programs can work in conjunction with the Myotherapy Institute of Massage (MIM) to provide quality training in therapeutic massage & bodywork. Students must take 200 hrs. (or more) of hands- on training from the TBLC & are required to have 300 hrs. (or more) of independent academic study (e.g. Swedish massage theory, Anatomy/Physiology, etc.) through MIM.

For all students working for a diploma through MIM all records are sent to MIM. In addition to the tuition to the Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center for the hands- on training, students should be prepared to pay a separate fee to MIM.
