MISSION STATEMENT OF THE
THERAPEUTIC BODYWORK LEARNING CENTER

At the Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center (TBLC), students gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become an exceptional and successful massage therapist. Through comprehensive curriculum, students learn how to combine expert technique with caring presence.

TBLC's intention is to create an affordable avenue of study and licensure qualification through small hands-on classes and clinical experience. Our goal is to provide a monthly, weekend massage training program that allows our students the flexibility to continue with their job, care-giving, etc. Upon graduation, students have a solid foundation and tools to develop a successful massage and bodywork practice.

Our instructors are dedicated to bringing forth a quality, apprenticeship-like, educational experience for the student, utilizing our own expertise as massage therapists. All our teachers are licensed, practicing massage therapists.

Students completing and passing our 500 HR. Diploma Massage Training Program are eligible to apply for their Maine Massage Licensure, and sit for National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage Bodywork exam, or the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards exam.

TBLC will also accept students for Customized Hands- on Programs. Use either your previous bodywork training to create a Portfolio for Review; or do independent study plus classroom hours to create the needed educational credit for Maine Licensure.

We also offer Massage Coaching for individual help and workshops for Continuing Education Credit.

All our programs encourage students to explore what generates health and vitality for the students themselves, as well as for potential clients. Self- care techniques are an integral part of all our massage/bodywork trainings.

The TBLC experience supports you in connecting with a community of like-minded people interested in learning natural healing techniques. Learn an integrated approach to therapeutic massage that encourages a holistic body / mind / spirit connection.

Note: Students creating their own customized programs by either working with the Myotherapy Institute of Massage (MIM); or the Portfolio Review for the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB); or the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, are responsible for their own professional documentation and presentation of courses not taken at the Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center (TBLC).
