Old Home Picnic 2000

The Schoolhouse
By Bruce E. Hanson
Little schoolhouse, in the woods
What have you seen, at century's end?
Life, birth, love, death.
Horse carts and automobiles,
Hoops and hacky sacks.
War and peace.
But never hate, never fear,
That would not pass at mother's hand.
Want, but not famine,
Prosperity, but not wealth,
Generation after generation.
