Old Home Picnic 2002

Conundrum
By Bruce E. Hanson
It meets in August
Informality,

Of many kin, but
Not one family.

It's number is Ten,
But counts up to more.

It's young in its branches
But old at its core.

After it's eaten,
One bowl is still full.

It doesn't take lessons,
But goes to a school.

Under a shade tree
It holds a meeting,

And goes indoors
For picnic eating.

It lugs 'round its horses,
Takes hay for a ride.

What is this oddity?
You all must decide!
